How Bookmarks works

Adds, edits and reorders the bookmarks (table of contents) shown in a PDF's side panel. Set each bookmark's title and target page, move it up or down, and indent it to make it a child item, building a tree of chapters and sections.

The "From headings" option finds lines that look like headings in the document and creates bookmarks automatically. When the saved document is opened, the bookmarks panel shows up on its own.

Can I generate bookmarks for a long report automatically?

Yes, try "From headings". Review the detected headings, delete the ones you don't need and fix their levels.

I want a bookmark for each file I merged.

The "Add bookmarks" option in Merge PDF puts a bookmark at the start of each file automatically.

Is Bookmarks free? Do I need an account?

It’s free and there’s no sign-up. We don’t ask for an email address and we don’t put a Yeti watermark on your file.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The file is processed in your browser’s memory on your own device and is never sent to Yeti’s servers. The limit is 25 MB and 200 pages per file.
