Removes the password and restrictions such as printing or copying from PDFs whose password you know. Handy for statements and bills that banks and phone companies send encrypted, when you're tired of typing the password or getting errors in other tools.
You can unlock several files at once. Enter the password for files that need one to open; files that only have permission restrictions unlock without asking. The tool also tells you which files weren't protected in the first place.

Can I open a PDF if I don't know the password?
No. The tool doesn't guess or crack passwords; it only works on documents whose password you know and that you're entitled to open.
Can I encrypt the unlocked file again?

Is Unlock PDF free? Do I need an account?
It’s free and there’s no sign-up. We don’t ask for an email address and we don’t put a Yeti watermark on your file.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The file is processed in your browser’s memory on your own device and is never sent to Yeti’s servers. You can choose up to 20 files at a time, 25 MB each and 100 MB in total.
