Blur Face
Find and blur faces in photos automatically, and mark licence plates or other areas by hand.
How Blur Face works
Hides the faces in your photos: before you share event pictures, to protect witnesses in an image you send with a complaint, or to follow personal data rules such as GDPR. The face detection model (YuNet) finds faces automatically when you open an image; each face is marked with a box that you click to turn on or off.
You can mark other areas yourself, such as licence plates, name badges or screens, by dragging on the image. Choose blur, pixelate or a black bar as the style, then the strength and an oval or rectangular area. The blur is strong enough that it can’t be reversed, and it’s burned into the image. The model runs in your browser; your photos never leave your device.
Frequently asked questions
Will every face be found?
Most faces seen from the front or in half profile are found, but very small, blurry, masked or full-profile faces can be missed. Always check the preview before you download and mark any that were missed by hand.
Can I hide personal details in PDF documents?
Yes. For text and areas in PDFs, use Redact PDF; the hidden content is really removed from the file.
Is Blur Face free? Do I need an account?
It’s free and there’s no sign-up. We don’t ask for an email address and we don’t put a Yeti watermark on your file.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The file is processed in your browser’s memory on your own device and is never sent to Yeti’s servers. The AI model runs in your browser too; it is only downloaded from our site the first time you use the tool. You can choose up to 20 images at a time, 25 MB and 24 megapixels each.
